Bio sketch: Frank Emmert-Streib

Before joining the Faculty of the Queen's University Belfast, Frank was a Senior Fellow in the Department of Biostatistics and the Department of Genome Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle (USA) working with John Storey (now Princeton University) and a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Bioinformatics at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City (USA) working with Arcady Mushegian. He studied Physics and Mathematics and obtained his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the University of Bremen (Germany) and a Diploma (with distinction) as well as a Bachelor in Theoretical Physics from the University of Siegen (Germany).

In fall 2011 he spent a sabbatical leave at the Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard School of Public Health in Boston (USA) working with John Quackenbush and the Statistics and Computational Biology Laboratory, CRUK Cambridge Research Institute, University of Cambridge in Cambridge (UK) working with Simon Tavaré.
